Iranian President Addresses Regional Issues
Speaking at the international Iran Corridor 2026 conference in Tehran, which focused on investment prospects and funding for rail and road corridors, Pezeshkian remarked: “We do not need a custodian. Regional countries can sit together and solve their problems.”
He noted that the modern world has become “very small,” underscoring the responsibility of countries to foster conditions that ensure peace, security, and stability for both current and future generations.
“No country benefits from war,” he added, highlighting that conflict, violence, and bloodshed hinder progress rather than advance it.
Pezeshkian commended regional leaders for their initiatives to strengthen security and governance, pointing to collaborative efforts among nations including Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Pakistan, and Afghanistan.
“We are all trying, and capable, of solving our problems together in peace and calm,” he affirmed.
The Iranian president also emphasized the nation’s “deep and extensive” relationship with Russia, noting that agreements and signatures formalized at the conference signify tangible actions rather than mere symbolic gestures.
